스티브 잡스의 후임으로 2개월 전 애플의 신임 CEO로 취임한 팀 쿡이 애플 임직원에게 스티브 잡스의 임종을 알리는 이메일을 발송했다.
팀 쿡 애플 CEO는 임직원들에게 보내는 메일에서 “애플이 비전과 창의적인 천재를 잃었으며 또한 세상은 놀라운 사람을 잃었다”고 썼다. 아래는 팀 쿡 애플 CEO의 임직원에게 보낸 메일 전문이다.

오늘 여러분 모두와 대단히 슬픈 소식을 공유하려 합니다. 스티브가 오늘 아침 세상을 떠났습니다.
애플은 비전과 창의적인 천재를 잃었으며 세상은 놀라운 사람을 잃었습니다. 스티브를 알게 되고 그와 함께 일하는 행운을 누렸던 우리는 친구이자 영감을 주는 멘토를 잃었습니다. 스티브는 그가 세운 회사를 떠났지만 그의 정신은 애플의 토대로 영원히 남을 것입니다.

I have some very sad news to share with all of you. Steve passed away earlier today.
Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being. Those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Steve have lost a dear friend and an inspiring mentor. Steve leaves behind a company that only he could have built, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple.
We are planning a celebration of Steve’s extraordinary life for Apple employees that will take place soon. If you would like to share your thoughts, memories and condolences in the interim, you can simply email rememberingsteve@apple.com.
No words can adequately express our sadness at Steve’s death or our gratitude for the opportunity to work with him. We will honor his memory by dedicating ourselves to continuing the work he loved so much.
