　음식 한끼에 2달러 정도로 저렴한 한국 생활을 꿈꿔온 Luke! 이제 꿈을 깰 시간인 것 같네요.

　“돈이 다 새 나가는 것 같아”라고 말할 때.

　“All my money is leaking out of my pocket.”

　Luke:Man! It’s not cheap to live in Korea at all! I thought Korea would be like Thailand and everything would be cheap.

　Tom:Seoul is one of the most expensive cities to live in the world. Public transportation is cheaper than other places but other than that, things can cost a lot.

　Luke:Tell me about it. I see all my money leaking out of my pocket.

　Tom:You are meant to spend lots of money in Seoul. It is easy to spend money there. There are lots of cool places to go and cool things to buy.

　

　Luke:세상에! 한국에 사는 건 전혀 저렴하지 않아! 난 한국이 태국 같고 모든 것이 쌀 줄 알았어.

　Tom:서울은 생활비가 가장 비싼 도시 중 하나야. 대중 교통은 아직 다른 곳보다는 싸지만 다른 것들은 좀 비싸지.

　Luke:그러게 말이다. 돈이 주머니에서 술술 새 나가는 것 같아.

　Tom:서울에서는 돈을 많이 쓰게 된다니까. 돈을 쓰기 참 쉬운 곳이야. 갈 곳도 많고, 살 것도 참 많다구.

　Luke:I think I need another job or something. Lots of native speakers here seem to engage in private tutoring.

　Tom:Yes, it’s easy to make money out of tutoring since there are so many Koreans who are obsessed with learning English. You can make up to $80∼90 for an hour.

　Luke:Just for talking to them in English, I can make that much money? That sounds too good to be true.

　

　Luke:다른 일을 하나 더 가져 볼까. 여기 외국인들은 과외를 많이 하는 것 같아.

　Tom:한국 사람들은 다들 열심히 영어를 배우니까 과외로 돈 벌기가 쉽지. 한시간에 아마 7∼8만원 정도 벌 수 있어.

　Luke:한시간 동안 영어로 대화하는 걸로 그렇게 많은 돈을? 그러면 너무 좋겠다!
