제목: How much memory does your computer have?

Mijin: I bought this new game and put it on my computer, but it won`t run. Do you have any idea why?

Peter: Well, how much memory does your computer have?

Mijin: Well, the disk has lots of room after I installed the game.

Peter: Disk space and memory are different. Disk space is where installed programs are stored and is determined by the size of your computer`s hard drive.

Mijin: Ok.

Peter: In order to run, those programs must be loaded into memory, or RAM. The more programs you run, or the bigger the program you want to run, the more RAM you will need.

Mijin: I understand now. My computer only has 128 Meg of RAM, so that may be the problem.

미진: 나 이 게임 새로 사서 컴퓨터에 깔았는데, 작동이 안 되네. 혹시 왜 그런지 아니?

피터: 글쎄. 너 컴퓨터 메모리가 어떻게 되니?

미진: 음. 게임을 깐 후에도 디스크에 여유 공간이 많거든.

피터: 디스크 공간과 메모리는 달라. 디스크 공간은 프로그램이 설치돼서 저장되는 곳이고 그 크기는 하드 드라이브의 크기에 의해 결정되지.

미진: 그렇군.

피터: 프로그램 실행을 위해서는 프로그램이 메모리, 다른 말로 RAM에 로드가 되어야 해. 실행되는 프로그램이 많을수록 그리고 실행 프로그램이 클수록 RAM이 더 필요하지.

미진: 이제 알겠다. 내 컴퓨터는 메모리가 128MB밖에 안 되거든. 그게 문제인가 보다.
