Mijin: Is it something that the normal computer user needs to know about?

Peter: Not anymore. DOS was vital in the past, but with the development of powerful OSs, has grown less needed.

미진: DOS 명령어가 뭐니?

피터: DOS 명령어는 간단하지만 강력한 명령어로서 윈도 OS에서 접근할 수 있어.

미진: 용도는 뭔데?

피터: DOS 명령어를 사용하면 인터넷상의 경로 추적, 하드 드라이브의 데이터 삭제 및 포맷, 상이한 모드로의 부팅 등 많은 것들을 할 수 있지.

미진: 그런 것 일반 컴퓨터 사용자들이 다 알아야 하는 거니?

피터: 이제 그렇지 않아. DOS야 옛날엔 중요했지만 강력한 OS의 개발로 이제는 점점 그 필요성이 떨어졌어.
