Susan: Steven, Mr. Pritchard`s brother. The guy waltzes in here at, like,11 in the morning and proceeds to boss everyone around and act like he owns the place.

James: Guess that`s one of the perks of being the brother of the owner.

Susan: I guess so. But I can`t imagine there`s a lot of satisfaction in riding your brother`s coattails, especially your younger brother!

James: I think things would look a little different if you were in his shoes.

Susan: Are you saying I`m jealous? He`s had everything handed to him on a silver platter by his brother, and he doesn`t know the first thing about what it means to work for something.

James: Anyways, don`t waste your time thinking about him.

Susan: 스티븐 말야. 프리처드의 형. 아침 11시에나 사무실에 건들건들 나와서 자기가 마치 사장인 것처럼 사람들한테 이래라 저래라 시킨다구.

James: 사장의 형이라는 이점 중 하나지 뭐.

Susan: 그렇지. 그런데, 동생 덕을 보는 게 그렇게 만족스러운지 모르겠어.

James: 너가 그 사람 입장이라면 상황이 약간 달리 보일 거야.

Susan: 내가 질투라도 한다는 거야? 동생한테서 모든 걸 쉽게 얻어서, 뭔가를 이루기 위해 일한다는 게 어떤 의미인지 조차 알지 못하는 사람이야.

James: 어쨌든 그 사람 생각으로 시간을 낭비하지 마.

‘coattail’은 ‘웃옷의 뒷자락’인데, ‘ride one`s coattails’은 ‘∼에게 편승하다, 덕을 보다’라는 뜻이다
