Chan: Susan, did you hear about the ‘Free Mojtaba and Arash Day’?

Susan: Oh, Mojtaba and Arash are the two Iranian men imprisoned because of their blogs?

Chan: Yes. The day was created to raise awareness of what Iran is doing-asking bloggers worldwide to post messages in support of freeing the two men.

Susan: Governments in some countries see the Internet as a threat-a way to spread subversive ideas.

Chan: And they want to continue to control what people can and cannot express. It’s one reason the Committee to Protect Bloggers was started about a month ago-to try to fight this kind of repression.

Susan: Let’s hope the millions of blogs out there can make a difference.

찬: 수잔, ‘Free Mojtaba and Arash Day’라고 들어봤어?

수잔: 아, 모차바와 아라시라면 블로그 때문에 체포된 이란 남자들 말이니?

찬: 응. 이란 정부가 벌이고 있는 일에 대한 경각심을 일깨워 주기 위해 이날을 만들어, 전 세계의 블로거들에게 이 두 남자의 석방을 호소하는 메시지를 올리도록 호소하고 있대.

수잔: 일부 국가의 정부는 인터넷을 위험한 것으로 보곤 하지. 사회질서를 파괴하는 생각을 유포하는 것으로 말이지.

찬: 그리고 계속해서 사람들이 표현할 수 있는 것과 없는 것에 대해 통제하려 하지. 이런 연유로 ‘블로거 보호협회’가 한달 전쯤 창설되었고, 이 같은 제지에 맞서려 하고 있지.

수잔: 수백만 개의 블로그가 어떤 변화를 가져오길 바라자고.
