　I dozed off on the sofa!

Jenny: Geez, I can`t stop yawning!

Catherine: Yeah, why do you look so tired? It`s only 10 in the morning!

Jenny: Oh, I stayed up late studying for my exam and dozed off on the sofa, so I

didn`t get a good night`s sleep.

Catherine: Why don`t you take a nap for a bit?

Jenny: What if the professor catches me?

Catherine: Don`t worry, I`ll wake you up if anything happens.

Jenny: 아. 하품이 계속 나오네.

Catherine: 너 오늘따라 되게 피곤해 보인다. 10시밖에 안되었는데 말이야.

Jenny: 시험공부 하느라고 늦게 자서 소파에서 잠이 들었거든. 그래서

잠을 잘 못자서 그런가 봐.

Catherine: 낮잠을 좀 자는 건 어때?

Jenny: 우리 교수님이 알아 채면 어떻게?

Catherine: 괜찮아∼ 무슨 일 생기면 내가 깨워줄게.

Take a nap은 ‘낮잠자다’라는 뜻이며 doze는 저도 모르게 ‘졸다’라는 뜻입니다. 따라서 소파에서 잠이 들었을 때는 ‘I dozed off on the sofa’라고 하죠. 침대에서 너무 편하게 오래 잤다 구요? 그런 경우에는 I slept so well, I had a great sleep! 이라고 하면 됩니다.

doze off: 슬그머니 잠에 들다

sleep: 잠을 자다

nap: 낮잠
